Hi everyone, I'm Erica, the recipe developer, photographer and writer behind Culinary Kindness, a plant-based recipe blog. I'm a former vegan bakery owner & cafe manager, passionate foodie, and AFPA Certified Holistic Nutritionist. I've cooked for cafes and catering companies and have had the honor of creating many celebration cakes. I like to say I have a lifetime of experience in food!
Family-Friendly Recipes
Just like my Polish Grandma, the thing that fills my bucket the most is FEEDING PEOPLE. It's my passion, it makes my heart happy, and I can't image ever stopping. Since my household follows a vegan diet but very few others in my social circle do, I've worked tirelessly to develop incredible plant-based dishes that get enthusiastic thumbs-ups from omnivores - even the skeptical ones!
"More Plants on More Plates"
This is my mantra. It's simple and to the point. I'm not here to preach vegan ethics, make pleas about climate change, or pass judgement on others' dietary choices. And while I could ramble on about the nutritional benefits of eating plants, I won't. We all know that eating more plants is a good thing and that's that.
Just like my own diet, the recipes I present here are varied. You'll find gluten-free, oil-free, and refined-sugar free recipes but you'll also see comfort food, the use of packaged vegan meat & dairy substitutes as flavor additions, and - of course - my signature indulgent desserts. We each have our own dietary balance we strive to achieve. While this is a deeply personal choice, I'd love to simply help you add some more plants to your week.
I promise these are not chewy, tough, or otherwise unpalatable recipes reminiscent of old-school bran muffins. In fact, I was recently told (and not by a vegan) that my desserts have "ruined all other desserts". I believe in flavor first - because no one wants to eat anything that doesn't taste good, and I wouldn't be a good ambassador of Eating More Plants if I was serving up bland, boring, or just plain bad food.
Ready to get started? Me too! Grab a fork and check out some of my personal favorite recipes:
- Chocolate Dessert Hummus - This 5 minute hummus tastes like brownie batter and makes a tasty (and beautiful!) snack platter perfect for parties.
- Tuscan Lentil Soup with Potatoes - A staple in our house that is absolutely packed with flavor. Level it up by adding your favorite plant-based sausage. Mmm!
- One Pot Vegan Chili Macaroni & Cheese - A meal prep must! This one pot recipe is great for making on a Sunday then portioning out for lunches throughout the week since chili always tastes better reheated.
